TMJ
Why does my jaw keep clicking?
G3 Chiro in Newport Beach treats TMJ, the jaw pain, clicking and clenching that a night guard does not resolve. Dr. Jaron Hua assesses the jaw alongside the upper neck, shoulders and how the head sits over the body, because where the head sits changes how the jaw closes. Sessions run 45 to 90 minutes.

Jaw tension and TMJ
I recently saw Dr. Jaron for jaw pain and TMJ issues I had been struggling with for a while. My jaw was constantly clicking and felt tight and uncomfortable. After my session, I noticed less tension, reduced clicking, and overall relief. Dr. Jaron was professional, knowledgeable, and took the time to explain what was going on and how he was treating it. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients and their progress.

Why it keeps coming back
A night guard protects the teeth, but it does not change why you clench. The jaw usually gets treated as if it works on its own. Where the head sits on the neck changes how the jaw closes, and the shoulders set where the head sits. When the head drifts forward, the jaw muscles work harder all day and all night. Until the neck, shoulders and posture change, the jaw stays overloaded.
How Dr. Jaron looks at it
Dr. Jaron looks at how the jaw opens and closes, how the upper neck and shoulders move, and how the head sits over the body. In each area he checks four things that can get stuck: the joints, the muscles, the nerves, and the fascia, the thin layer that wraps every muscle and nerve.
What to expect
Hands-on work on the jaw muscles, ligaments, tendons and the jaw joint, along with the upper neck, shoulders and the tissue under the jaw. You leave with exercises for jaw control and head position. For patients already seeing a dentist, Dr. Jaron works alongside them, not in place of them.

Inside a session
Dr. Jaron, on treating one patient’s jaw pain
Our patient came in with ringing in his ears and jaw pain affecting his sleep, but we did not start with his jaw. If the pelvis is in rotation, tension travels up the chain into the neck and jaw, so we correct the foundation first.
We treat the muscles, ligaments and fascia to reduce the tension in the jaw. Treatment alone is not enough, so we finish with TMJ specific exercises he can keep doing himself.
Do not make the mistake of only treating where it hurts. Fix what is causing it so it does not keep coming back.

Do I have to stop seeing my dentist?
No. For patients already seeing a dentist, Dr. Jaron works alongside them, not in place of them.
